Student Rooms. UL approved appliances such as coffee makers, popcorn poppers, rice cookers, and microwave ovens of 700 xxxxx or less are permitted for use in student rooms, and must be plugged directly into the wall. Any open elements, such as toaster ovens, detachable electric kettles, electric/portable grills or skillets, toasters, electric frying pans, etc. are not permitted for usage in student’s rooms.
