Common use of SUBMITTING GRIEVANCES Clause in Contracts

SUBMITTING GRIEVANCES. 1. All formal grievances and dispositions of grievances shall be in writing. The Board shall be given notice of a grievance at least ten (10) days in advance of the meeting at which the Board will consider the grievance. 2. All grievances shall be instituted at the lowest possible level of supervision where an equitable solution may be reached. 3. If specified time limits are not met the grievant may submit a grievance to the next level up through level 4. (Time limits may be extended only if by mutual written agreement.) The Association may move a grievance up through Level 5. 4. In the event a grievance is filed at such time that it cannot be processed through all the necessary steps in the grievance procedure by the end of the school year, time limits shall be reduced to complete the procedure prior to the school year's end or as soon thereafter as is practicable. If the process is not practical, Paragraph A3 will be followed.
