Support in Discipline. A teacher has the responsibility to maintain discipline. It is recognized that the discipline problems are less likely to occur in classes where a high level of student interest is maintained. It is likewise recognized that when discipline problems occur, they shall be dealt with in a manner consistent with sound child growth and development and student management techniques. The BOARD recognizes its responsibility to give all reasonable support and assistance to teachers whenever it appears that a particular pupil requires the attention of special counselors, social workers, law enforcement personnel, physicians, or other professional personnel.
