Suspension of the project. 1. The coordinator shall immediately inform the JU of any event affecting or delaying the implementation of the project. 2. The coordinator can propose to suspend the whole or part of the project if force majeure or exceptional circumstances render its execution excessively difficult or uneconomic. The coordinator must inform the JU without delay of such circumstances, including full justification and information related to the event, as well as an estimation of the date when the work on the project will begin again. 3. After having given the consortium through the coordinator a delay to make observations, the JU may suspend the whole or part of the project where it considers that the consortium is not fulfilling its obligations according to this grant agreement. The coordinator shall be informed without delay of the justification for such an event and the conditions necessary to reinstate the work again. The coordinator shall inform the other beneficiaries. This suspension takes effect 10 days after the receipt of the notification by the coordinator. 4. During the period of suspension, no costs may be charged to the project for carrying out any part of the project that has been suspended. 5. The suspension of the whole or part of the project may be lifted once the parties to the grant agreement have agreed on the continuation of the project and, as appropriate, any necessary modification, including extension of the duration of the project, has been identified by means of a written amendment.
