TEC Base Functionality Limits of CSTBs. The TEC base functionality limits of all CSTBs includes conditional access to allow the descrambling of standard definition digital video and audio signals. The base functionality of all CSTBs includes the reception of digital TV signals from Cable, Satellite, IP or Terrestrial distribution systems, or else Thin- Client functionality, as further specified below. The classification of each CSTB (as set out below) is distinct and each classification is mutually exclusive. In the event that a particular CSTB might fall into more than one of the categories below then it shall be treated as falling solely into the first such category.
