Telephone Operator. The position of Telephone Operator shall be staffed during all City Hall regular hours of operation. In order to accomplish this task, all Departments within City Hall, except as noted below, shall provide the necessary personnel to staff the telephone operator position when vacated due to illness, vacation, meal breaks, or other leave. The Mayor’s Office, ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇’s Office, and Retirement Board Office shall be exempt from this provision. All other qualified Unit A personnel shall participate on a fair and equitable basis in the staffing of the temporarily vacant telephone operator position. Selection of staff will rotate through the departments as needed. The Human Resources Director will conduct the rotation process so that it shall be fair and equitable to all members of the bargaining unit “A” within City Hall. The Human Resources Director shall inform all appropriate Department Heads of this contractual obligation.
