Common use of Tenant’s Security Responsibilities Clause in Contracts

Tenant’s Security Responsibilities. Tenant shall (1) lock the doors to the Premises and take other reasonable steps to secure the Premises and the personal property of all Tenant Parties (defined in Article 13) and any of Tenant’s transferees, contractors or licensees in the Common Areas and parking facilities of the Building and Property, from unlawful intrusion, theft, fire and other hazards; (2) keep and maintain in good working order all security and safety devices installed in the Premises by or for the benefit of Tenant (such as locks, smoke detectors and burglar alarms); and (3) cooperate with Landlord and other tenants in the Building on Building safety matters. Tenant acknowledges that any security or safety measures employed by Landlord are for the protection of Landlord’s own interests; that Landlord is not a guarantor of the security or safety of the Tenant Parties or their property; and that such security and safety matters are the responsibility of Tenant and the local law enforcement authorities.
