All personal property must be removed within 48 hours after a student withdraws, separates from the university, or after the residence halls close for the summer semester. A room- cleaning/removal charge will be assessed against any student who fails to remove their items or personal property within 48 hours of withdrawal or separation. Personal property left in bedrooms, hallways, stairwells, lounges, and other common areas will be considered abandoned property and will be considered property of Housing and may be donated or discarded. VSU Housing and Residence Life will not be liable for any items left or abandoned by the residents after the 48-hour period has passed. In consideration of this service, the student agrees to waive any claims against VSU. G. Any refunds or buy-outs will be calculated based on the date the resident properly checks-out of the room with VSU staff.

If Resident terminates this Contract prior to the Resident’s scheduled move-in date while still an admitted UCR student, cancellation charges will follow the schedule below, which the Resident agrees are liquidated damages. vi. All Contract Cancellation Requests submitted on or after Resident’s announced Fall 2021 Move-In Date, or the scheduled move-in date for Residents contracting entering at any other time during the academic year, excepting conditions outlined above will be assessed according to the schedule below. Within 30 Days of Scheduled Move-In Date Room Fees for summer term and canceling 30 nights On or After Scheduled Move-In Date of Contract $75 Processing Fee + Remaining Financial Obligation of Contract vii. All other requests will be charged as indicated in the schedule above. (a) Cancellation of admission or release from UCR student status by for the remainder of the academic year. This does not include voluntarily withdrawing from classes for any particular quarter. A $75 processing fee and pro rata rent will be charged. NOTE: Previous payments made according to the Office payment schedule may not be adequate enough to cover expenses incurred (e.g. meals) in the event of Housing an early departure and Residence Lifeany over-usage or underpayment will be billed appropriately to Resident at time of departure.
