Test the thickness. Club members must test the thickness of ice in a particular location using an appropriate tool such as an ice chisel, ice auger, or even a cordless ¼ inch drill with a long bit. Club members should check frequently (every 50 feet) during the early season or after a warm spell. A useful tool in checking the thickness ice is an ice chisel, or a “spud bar”. This is a long piece of metal with a flat tip that is used for not only hitting the ice with to ensure it is thick enough to withstand your weight, but also to chisel a small hole in the ice so club members can measure the thickness of the ice with either a tape measurer or an ice skimmer. Remember: clear, black ice is much stronger than cloudy or white ice, or ice with lots of snow on it, since snow insulates the ice and keeps it warm.

  • DOCUMENTS AND SAMPLES AT THE SITE 4.11.1 The Contractor shall maintain at the site for the State one record copy of all Drawings, Specifications, Addenda, Change Orders and other modifications, in good order and marked currently to record all changes made during construction, and approved Shop Drawings, Product Data and Samples. These shall be available to the Architect and the State for monthly review prior to approval of Contractor’s monthly application for payment. Prior to substantial completion of the Work, the Contractor shall ensure that one record copy of all Drawings, Specifications, Addenda, Change Orders and other Modifications, in good order and marked currently to record all changes made during construction, and approved Shop Drawings, Product Data and Samples are delivered to the Architect for the State and a duplicate copy shall be delivered to the State for the State’s use.

  • SUBGRADE COMPACTION Purchaser shall compact constructed and reconstructed subgrades in accordance with the Compaction List by routing equipment over the entire width, except ditch. Purchaser shall obtain written approval from the Contract Administrator for subgrade compaction before placement of rock.

  • Required Coverages For Generation Resources Of 20 Megawatts Or Less Each Constructing Entity shall maintain the types of insurance as described in section 11.1 paragraphs (a) through (e) above in an amount sufficient to insure against all reasonably foreseeable direct liabilities given the size and nature of the generating equipment being interconnected, the interconnection itself, and the characteristics of the system to which the interconnection is made. Additional insurance may be required by the Interconnection Customer, as a function of owning and operating a Generating Facility.   • Under-Frequency and Over Frequency Conditions The New York State Transmission System is designed to automatically activate a load- shed program as required by the NPCC in the event of an under-frequency system disturbance. Developer shall implement under-frequency and over-frequency relay set points for the Large Generating Facility as required by the NPCC to ensure “ride through” capability of the New York State Transmission System. Large Generating Facility response to frequency deviations of predetermined magnitudes, both under-frequency and over-frequency deviations, shall be studied and coordinated with the NYISO and Connecting Transmission Owner in accordance with Good Utility Practice. The term “ride through” as used herein shall mean the ability of a Generating Facility to stay connected to and synchronized with the New York State Transmission System during system disturbances within a range of under-frequency and over-frequency conditions, in accordance with Good Utility Practice and with NPCC Regional Reliability Reference Directory # 12, or its successor.

  • DISPOSAL COMPLETION Purchaser shall remove organic debris from the road surface, ditchlines, and culvert inlets and outlets. Purchaser shall complete all disposal of organic debris before the application of rock.
