THE COUNTY OF ALAMEDA SIDELETTER OF AGREEMENT. The parties agree that the County shall increase the existing monthly Share the Savings stipend in Plan Year 2015, so that the new monthly totals shall be as follows: • $200 for those employees who decline all medical coverage; • $150 for those employees who decline Family coverage and elect Single coverage; • $100 for those employees who decline Family coverage and elect 2-party coverage ; • $100 for those employees who decline 2-party coverage and elect Single coverage . Training and Professional Development 2012 MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING NEGOTIATIONS PUBLIC DEFENDER CHAPTER IFPTE, LOCAL 21 AND THE COUNTY OF ALAMEDA Sideletter of Agreement In addition to in-house training offered by the Office of the Public Defender at no cost to attorneys, the Office shall also provide funding for training and professional development as follows : Basic Trial Skills Institute-up to 6 Associate Deputy Public Defender per year may be eligible, as determined by the Public Defender; Homicide Seminar-up to 20 employees per year in the classifications of Associate Deputy Public Defender, Deputy Public Defender, or Assistant Public Defender, as determined by the Public Defender. The Office of the Public Defender will pay the registration fees for the above training/professional development conferences . The attorney will be responsible for any associated travel , meals and lodging costs. If the training/conference occurs on scheduled work days, the attorney shall receive his/her regular compensation for attendance on those days. The attorney shall not be entitled to additional pay for attending conferences/training that occur at times the attorney is not regularly scheduled to work. In the event that funds for the above training/professional development are not fully available for the training/professional development as described above, the Public Defender, in his sole discretion shall determine how to allocate any remaining funds. This sideletter is in effect beginning within 30 days of adoption of this MOU and shall remain in effect until July 15, 2017.The Public Defender's decisions under this sideletter shall not be subject to grievance or other appeal. This written instrument is the entire sideletter between the parties. The parties agree to the following conceptual guidelines for the eighteen month pilot. The pilot will be evaluated at the end of the eighteen month period and continuation of the program shall be at the discretion of the Department Head. - Employees requesting to participate in the alternative work schedule pilot program will submit the request in writing to their supervisor. If approved by the Director of Public Works, a pilot program for employees in bargaining unit 077 will be implemented for a specified duration. Upon completion of the pilot program, the Office shall also provide funding for training Public Works Agency management will assess the merits of the pilot program, taking into consideration whether it meets the business and professional development operational needs of the Agency, including unit/Agency productivity, customer service, cost effectiveness, and efficiency.
