Common use of The Grounding Conductor Clause in Contracts

The Grounding Conductor. In order to reduce inductance and surge voltages in a power distribution system, a ground path for protected devices should be provided. One method is to rely upon the conduit system to carry these transient currents. This is allowed by the National Electrical Code in Article 250-91 (b). The best method, however, is to include an extra conductor in the same conduit or raceway as the current carrying conductor. The grounding conductor should extend to the ground connection in the service entrance equipment.
