Common use of Time Periods for Provision of Covered Services in Special Circumstances Clause in Contracts

Time Periods for Provision of Covered Services in Special Circumstances. (i) In the case of a Member who has an acute condition or serious chronic condition, the Covered Services in Special Circumstances shall be provided to the Member by the terminated Participating Provider for up to ninety (90) days following the termination date or a longer period if necessary for a safe transfer to another Participating Provider as determined by Medical Group in consultation with the terminated Participating Provider. (ii) In the case of a Member who has a high-risk pregnancy or a pregnancy that has reached the second or third trimester, the Covered Services in Special Circumstances shall be provided to the Member by the terminated Participating Provider until postpartum services related to the delivery are completed or for a longer period if necessary for a safe transfer to another Participating Provider as determined by Medical Group in consultation with the terminated Participating Provider.
