Transfers Caused by Reduction. ‌ A. Before laying off a member, the College will make a good faith effort, including review of experience and qualifications to teach in other departments, to provide the member a normal workload through transfer in whole or in part to other layoff units for which the member is qualified. Qualifications for positions shall be no more than what would normally be required of new hires. B. Should the original position held by the member be subsequently reinstated in whole or in part, the transferred member shall be given the opportunity to transfer back to their original position or remain where they are. (See Appendix E). C. Transfers of employees to a new location shall not involve travel costs to the College.
