Common use of Transfers from one School to Another Clause in Contracts

Transfers from one School to Another. An employee wishing to transfer from one school to another, shall write to the Superintendent of Education/Facilities Services or designate, setting out their desire to be transferred to a particular school or location. Such transfers will be considered on the basis of the date the request was received rather than by virtue of seniority. It is understood that all employees requests for transfers will be considered prior to the Board deciding to hire any new employees. Employees who are transferred in accordance with this provision will not be permitted to request another transfer for a period of one (1) year, except by written permission of the Board. Transfer requests to a new school can only be made when the Chief Custodian’s job has been posted.
