Common use of Trip Delay Clause in Contracts

Trip Delay. We will pay the amount specified in the Certificate of Insurance if an Insured Person’s journey on a Common Carrier is delayed beyond the number of hours specified in the Certificate of Insurance of its scheduled departure or scheduled arrival time, during the Travel Period. This In-built Benefit will be payable provided that: a. The Insured Person provides Us with a written proof from the Common Carrier of the length of the delay unless this proof is available to Us directly from a reliable source in the public domain; b. The delay is in excess of the Deductible from the time of scheduled departure or scheduled arrival time of the Common Carrier; c. The delay in not due to the late arrival of the Insured Person; We shall not accept more than one claim under this Benefit during the Travel Period.
