Common use of Typical Splice Attenuation Clause in Contracts

Typical Splice Attenuation. Splices shall be measured using bi-directional methods to average splice attenuation. The attenuation of a single splice will not exceed 0.3 dB at 1550nm. The average attenuation of all splices in a span will not exceed 0.15 dB at 1550nm. To calculate this measurement, the bi- directional splice attenuations measured above will be summed and divided by the number of splices within the circuit.
