Union Release Time. (a) It is acknowledged by the parties that all Union stewards and other Union representatives have regular duties to perform as employees of the University. e) The Unit Chairperson and Union Xxxxxxx shall provide their Supervisor with at least 2 weeks’ notice of each regularly scheduled meeting.
f) The time absent due to attendance of 1 delegate at the semi-annual meetings of CAUT Council (2 days per year).meeting will be made up by the Unit Chairperson and Union Xxxxxxx within the week in which the meeting is held unless otherwise agreed with their Supervisor. Unpaid Release Time

(1) Shall continue to receive their regular wages from the Authority, on its payroll;
(2) Shall suffer no loss of seniority rights with the Authority;
(3) Shall have full participation in the Authority’s insurance programs;
(4) Shall be covered by the Authority’s workers’ compensation program;
(5) Shall have PERS employer and employee contributions submitted by the Authority on their behalf. Employees who are released on a part-time basis shall continue to receive all benefits provided by the Authority to bargaining unit members. The Union xxxxxxx or other Union representative to attend to Union business other than shall reimburse the Authority for the purposes outlined in Article 5.03(c) will, if granted, be without pay or will be granted with an agreement all costs that the time absent will Authority pays for employees released from their regular job duties under provisions of paragraphs (a) and (b) of this Section. The Union shall reimburse the Authority for all costs that the Authority pays for employees released from their regular pay or benefitsjob duties under provisions of paragraphs (a) and (b) of this Section. This reimbursement shall include all wage payments, from regularly scheduled hoursall PERS contributions, and for the following purposes:
i. to represent all such employees hired after 1986, all Medicare contributions. Such reimbursement shall be paid by the Union to the Authority in the month following any such payments made by the Authority. This section shall be binding on committees and task forces that are created at the invitation of parties to the University;
ii. to participate in Labour Management Committee meetings;
iii. to represent employees in grievances, including the investigation of a complaint;
iv. to attend meetings with the University; and,
v. the attendance of 1 delegate at the semi-annual meetings of CAUT Council (2 days per year)extent permitted by law.
(d) Subject An unpaid leave of absence shall be given to Article 5.03(a), any release time required by employee who is elected or appointed as a fulltime officer in the International Union xxxxxxx or other Union representative to attend to Union business other than for the purposes outlined in Article 5.03(c) will, if granted, be without pay or will be granted with an agreement that the time absent will be worked at a later date. The agreement will be between the employee and her supervisor and will be in writing, specifying the details duration of the time and date employee’s tenure in such office without loss of seniority rights with the missed work will be performedAuthority.
(e) All employees shall be entitled to 1 one hour paid leave each fiscal year for the purposes of attending the annual General Meeting of the Union.
(f) The Union shall provide the University with written notification of the date and time of its annual General Meeting 30 days in advance. Employees who plan to attend shall provide reasonable notice to their supervisor.
