Upgrading of Skills and Abilities. (A) Employees shall possess such skills and abilities as may be necessary to successfully carry out the particular requirements of the position for which she is employed. (B) If, after consultation with the Superintendent or his/her designee, the immediate supervisor and the employee, it is determined that an employee does not have the necessary skills or abilities required for the position, she may be required to upgrade skills and abilities in accordance with district strategic plan and goals. The BOARD’S only obligation under this provision shall consist of books and tuition. (1) Prior to requiring training, the employee shall be given, in writing a list of the skills, which are in need of upgrading and an opportunity to discuss the matter with their immediate supervisor. (2) If the employee disagrees with the determination concerning the upgrading of the skills listed in Article IV, Section 13. Subsection (A), she may request a meeting with the Executive Director of Human Resources to discuss the matter further. At such meeting either party may request the presence of the FEDERATION.
