Vacation Postponements. 1. The Company may not cancel a flight attendant’s scheduled vacation. If Company operations necessitate the postponement of vacations in a domicile, the Company shall first solicit volunteers for such postponement. If there are insufficient volunteers for such postponement, the Company may make such postponements mandatory.
2. Voluntary postponements shall be awarded in seniority order by domicile and vacation period. Involuntary postponements shall be awarded in reverse seniority order by domicile and vacation period.
3. A flight attendant whose vacation is postponed shall select a vacation period(s) from open vacation available during the current year. If there is no open vacation in her/his domicile at any time for the remainder of the year, the flight attendant may carry over the vacation to the next year. The Director of Inflight shall provide the flight attendant with documentation that her/his vacation has been postponed.

If an employee’s vacation becomes due during a period when he/she is on leave due to illness or injury, the employee may request that his/her vacation date be changed and the immediate supervisor shall grant such request in accordance with vacation dates available at that time.

In no case will a pilot’s vacation be postponed two years in a row (i.e., if a pilot has vacation postponed to the following year, all of the vacation in the following year is non-postponeable). The chief pilot will provide the pilot with documentation that his vacation has been postponed and that the vacation credit may be carried over to the following year.
4. A pilot whose vacation is postponed either voluntarily or involuntarily shall receive as much notice as possible of such postponement and shall be compensated for any payments or deposits that are unrecoverable due to the postponement. The pilot will be required to provide documentation of such losses.
