Value of Variations. Unless the Principal directs otherwise in writing, the value of the Variation must be agreed, or failing agreement shall be determined by the Principal by referring to the Schedule of Prices or (in the absence of a Schedule of Prices) by referring to the Contractor’s prices in relation to similar work under the Contract (if any) and/or what is fair and reasonable in the circumstances. Unless directed otherwise, the value of the Variation shall be agreed or determined prior to the Contractor commencing the varied work. The value of Variations will be added to or deducted from the Contract Price.
