Variable-Source Crosswalk. Variables were derived either from the HC questionnaire itself, the MPC data collection instrument, or from the CAPI. The source of each variable is identified in Section D “Variable - Source Crosswalk” in one of four ways: 1. Variables derived from CAPI or assigned in sampling are so indicated as “CAPI derived” or “Assigned in sampling,” respectively; 2. Variables which come from one or more specific questions have those questionnaire sections and question numbers indicated in the “Source” column; questionnaire sections are identified as: • EV – Event Roster section • HH – Home Health Event section • CP – Charge Payment section 3. Variables constructed from multiple questions using complex algorithms are labeled “Constructed” in the “Source” column; and 4. Variables that have been edited or imputed are so indicated.
