Variable Supplementary Payments. The employer may award a payment in addition to salary on the grounds of recruitment or retention problems; or to recognise special administrative responsibilities., such as Academic Head responsibilities taking into account that all Professors are eligible to serve (and may be required to serve) as academic head The supplement may be payable indefinitely or for a specified period, or for the period during which the employee continues to assume the special responsibilities. The continuing payment of the supplement is subject to performance.
