When a Medical Certificate is Required. The supervisor will require a medical certificate for any absence four or more workdays. The supervisor will require a medical certificate for any absence three workdays or less when the supervisor makes the unreviewable management determination that based on any of the following circumstances, a medical certificate is required to support the reason for the absence: (1) Previous leave usage; (2) The length of the absence; (3) A sick leave request made after the employee has been assigned an undesirable work assignment or unwanted overtime, or has been denied annual leave; or, (4) Any other situation surrounding the employee’s leave request that raises reasonable questions about the reason for the leave.
