Common use of WORK DELAYS Clause in Contracts

WORK DELAYS. 14.1 All of the Work will be completed and ready for final payment by the completion date specified in this Contract. 14.2 If the Contractor is delayed at any time in the progress of the Work by adverse weather which, in the opinion of the OWNER’S REPRESENTATIVE would compromise the quality of the Work, or by changes ordered in the Work, by labor disputes, fire, unusual delay in transportation, unavoidable casualties, causes beyond the Contractor's control, or by any cause which the OWNER’S REPRESENTATIVE may determine justifies the delay, then the Contract Time shall be extended by Change Order for such reasonable time as the OWNER’S REPRESENTATIVE may determine. Contractor shall submit requests for extensions of time to the Owner’s Representative within 48 hours of occurrence of the event.
