THIS AGREEMENT is between The Florida International University Board of Trustees (FIU/BOT, FIU, Board, or the University) and the Florida Nurses Association, Office & Professional Employees International Union, Local 713, AFL-CIO (FNA Local 713, FNA, the union) representing the employees in the Bargaining Unit. It is recognized by the University and the FNA Local 713 that the public policy of the State and the purpose of Part II, Chapter 447, Florida Statutes, is to provide statutory implementation of Section 6, Article 1 of the Constitution of the State of Florida, and to promote harmonious and cooperative relationships between public employers and its employees, both collectively and individually, and to protect the public by assuring, at all times, the orderly and uninterrupted operations and functions of the public employer.
