□ Braze mild steel and cast steel with the following: • filler rod• flux• grinder• oxyacetylene welding equipment• brazing tips• protective clothing/equipment• sand cloth• welder’s standard tool kit• wire brush• work orders and workpieces □ The joint is cleaned, fluxed, and brazed so that the filler metal bonds to the workpiece by entering the grain of the parent metal, then cooled slowly enough to preserve ductility. □ The bead is free of cracks, undercutting, and porosity. □ Solder metal components with the following: • flux• oxyacetylene welding equipment• soldering tips• protective clothing/equipment• sand cloth• solder• work orders and workpieces □ The joint is clean, fluxed, and brazed so that the solder flows by capillary action into the joint, providing a complete seal and/or even finish across the prescribed area.
