The employer and employees have a common and sympathetic interest in the gas utility industry. Therefore a proper working system and harmonious relations are desirable to improve the relationship between the employer, the employees, and the public. To this end this Agreement is made by and between the Public Service Electric and Gas Company of New Jersey, its successors and assigns (hereinafter called the Company) and the Public Utility Construction and Gas Appliance Workers of the State of New Jersey, Local 855, of the United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipe Fitting Industry, A.F.L.-C.I.O.
