WHEREAS it is the intent and of both the Company and the Union to set forth herein the basic agreement covering rates of pay, hours of work and conditions of employment to be observed between the parties hereto and to provide procedure for prompt, equitable adjustment of alleged grievances arising from the interpretation of this agreement and whereas it is understood that close cooperation between the Company and the Union towards the success of the Company mutually
