Shielded Metal Arc Fillet Welds I π Make fillet welds using fast fill rod and the following: β’ Chipping hammer β’ Electrodes β’ Grinder β’ SMAW equipment β’ Fast fill rods β’ Portable screens β’ Protective clothing/equipment β’ Weld gauge β’ Wire brush β’ Work orders β’ Work pierces π The weld is deposited with complete fusion and is free from slag, overlapping, cracking, and porosity. π The weld is at least 25% greater in width than depth. π T
