Street School’s mentoring program is comprised of volunteers in the community who meet for one hour a week with a Street School student. These volunteers complete mentor training and are cleared through an OSBI background check before meeting with their mentees. The mentors may meet with their mentee in the school building or they may walk to a nearby location (Will Rogers Methodist Church, Braden Park or Tally’s restaurant). Students may need to make-up classroom work that was missed during the mentor meeting. However, when possible, students will be excused from their classroom assignments during the time of the mentor meeting.
