THIS AGREEMENT, made and entered into under the provisions of M.G.L. Chapter 150E, as amended, between the Town of Bourne, Massachusetts (hereinafter the "Town") and the Massachusetts Laborers' District Council Public Employee Local Union 1249 of the Laborers' International Union of North America, AFL- CIO (hereinafter the "Union") has, as its specific purposes, the maintenance and promotion of a harmonious relationship between the Town and the employees covered by the provisions of this Agreement; the establishment of an equitable and peaceful procedure for the resolution of differences; the establishment of rates of pay, hours of work, benefits, and other conditions of employment; and the provision for the highest standards for the efficient and progressive service to the public.
