The Employer further agrees that all new regular employees hired subsequent to the effective date of this Agreement shall, as a condition of employment, thirty-one (31) days from the initial work date become and remain members of the Union in good standing. On-call/per diem employees shall become members as specified in Section 7.3. Any employee who chooses to waive rights to participate as a Union member may satisfy the Union security obligation by payment to the Union of the equivalent of the periodic dues and initiation fees uniformly required of members or the periodic dues and initiation fees related to the Union’s representational costs, fair share fees. If the employee is a member of a church or religious body whose bona fide religious tenets forbid said employee to be a member of a labor union, such employee shall pay an amount of money equivalent to the regular Union dues and initiation fees to a non-religious charity mutually agreed upon by the employee and the Union.
