On 19 February 2013, twenty-five Member States of the European Union signed an agreement setting up “a Unified Patent Court” (hereinafter “the UPC Agreement”),1 which supplements Regulation 1257/2012 creating unitary protection by means of European patents and Regulation 1260/2012 governing the translation arrangements for these types of European patents.
