The Joint Science and Technology Office – Chemical Biological Defense (JSTO-CBD) has established a STEM Vault as an outreach activity to allow teachers who have participated in JSTO-CBD research and professional development initiatives the opportunity to borrow related STEM equipment and materials. The purpose of this outreach activity is to ensure that teachers are able to take their experiences and new knowledge back to their classrooms. By transferring these skills and new knowledge to students, the students will become knowledgeable in emerging sciences and in opportunities for service as civilians or military personnel with JSTO-CBD. Since a lack of resources is often a major obstacle for teachers to effectively integrate emerging sciences into their classrooms, through this initiative, participating teachers will be provided materials and ongoing access to the equipment needed for integration, via a loan agreement.
