This workshop focuses on how to get students to reason and take responsibility for their own learning. We use “Inquiry” as the basic instruction method. Good inquiry requires that students figure things out themselves. They must start lost and learn to become “unlost” so that they might come to their own understanding of the subject matter. How do we put all the pieces together in a 45-minute class? This workshop models the following classroom steps: inquiry task, group activity, discussion and debate, content statement, individualizing and transference.
