SUBJECT: Atascadero Automatic Aid Agreement DATE: February 3, 2004January 30th, 2004
FACTS: 1 Aid agreements save taxpayer money and enhance response capability through resource sharing. 2. The City has a mutual aid agreement in place with other city and county emergency response agencies. 3. The City has an automatic aid agreement in place with County Fire/CDF (since January 2000, see attached). 4. Mutual aid requests are processed through County Fire dispatch, but only after someone at the emergency scene requests these additional resources. 5. Automatic aid requests are processed immediately upon receipt of the 911 call. 6. Automatic aid resources arrive approximately 8 to 12 minutes faster than mutual aid resources due to the differences in how these requests are processed. 7. In 2002, Paso Robles received mutual aid from Atascadero on 3 occasions, and provided mutual aid on 2 occasions. In 2003, Paso Robles received mutual aid from Atascadero on 2 occasions, and provided mutual aid on one occasion.
