This project represents the culminating experience for Energy and Sustainability Policy majors. Students are challenged to pull together the wide array of knowledge they’ve acquired while in the program and apply the skills they’ve refined in a practical scenario in the real world to hopefully have a tangible impact in their communities. This inquiry-based project challenges students to step out from behind their computers and tackle the more complicated problems of sustainability they see and experience in their own communities. They are asked to identify, organize, execute, and reflect on a local issue related to energy, climate, or sustainability more broadly with particular emphasis on policy-based solutions.
