DISCUSSION: Two days of professional development to address the needs of teachers providing reading intervention utilizing the LLI instructional tool. The content of the sessions will provide participants an in-depth understanding of each of the levels within the Leveled Literacy Intervention Intermediate System developed by Fountas and Pinnell. Professional development will focus on specific strategies for maximizing small group instruction for struggling readers in an effort to accelerate learning gains. CONTRACT TERM: The contract shall be valid through June 30, 2015. RECOMMENDATION: It is the recommendation of Dr. Teresa Wright, Director of Early Childhood Education, Head Start & Title l to approve the attached agreement with Heinemann in the amount of $8,400.00.
