This TFA aims to establish best practices and common rules for international trade, so as to stimulate trade and, consequently, bring benefits to all WTO Members. The TFA contains provisions to accelerate the movement and clearance of goods, including goods in transit. It also establishes measures for cooperation between Customs and other competent authorities with regard to trade facilitation and customs compliance issues. It also further contains provisions regarding technical assistance and capacity building for least developed countries.
