The general purpose of this Agreement is, in the mutual interest of the Company and employees, to define the contractual relationship between the par- ties in order to provide a basis for the successful and safe operation of the plant under methods which will further, to the fullest extent possible, industrial peace, economy of operations, quantity and quality of products; and consistent with applicable laws and terms of the Agreement and the welfare of employees. It is the duty of the Company, the Union and the employees to co-operate fully, individually and collectively, for the advancement of these conditions.
