Introduction: The goal of our biometrics research is to develop new techniques, technology, and algorithms for the automatic recognition of humans. Datasets that we have collected are meant to aid research efforts in the general area of developing, testing and evaluating human recognition algorithms. The University of Notre Dame du Lac (henceforth, “UND”) owns copyright of the collection of biometric images and serves as the source for the ND-PSIPAD-2024 dataset. The ND-PSIPAD-2024 dataset consists of: (a) 4,167 images of authentic irises not covered by textured contact lenses, (b) 4,167 images of irises wearing various types of textured contact lenses, (c) 4,167 synthetically-generated images representing irises not covered by textured contact lenses, and (d) 4,167 synthetically-generated images mimicking irises wearing textured contact lenses.
