Yesterday’s energy agreement was an im- portant agreement. It’s important for the United States, and it’s important for India. It’s important for the United States be- cause—in that we live in a global energy mar- ket when a fast-growing country like India consumes more fossil fuels, it causes the price of fossil fuels to go up not only in India but around the world, including the United States. And therefore, the extent to which we can help nations develop civilian nuclear power is in the nation’s interest.
