Re: City-Consultant Agreement for Design of Strecker Road Crosswalk Improvement Project,City-Consultant Agreement • December 8th, 2023 • Missouri
Background: At a prior meeting of the Administration and Public Works Committee, a motion was approved for the Department to proceed with a project to install crosswalk improvements, consisting of the construction of Rapid Flashing Beacons on Strecker Road at two crosswalks: Prestwick Place Lane and at Turnberry Place Drive. (Please see Exhibit A for location.) Rapid Flashing Beacons (RFB’s) are activated by a pedestrian push button and provide a flashing strobe light to alert oncoming traffic of the presence of a pedestrian at the crosswalk. Earlier this year, the Department completed a project where RFB’s were installed at two other crosswalks on Strecker Road.
