This project consists of construction of a new 10-foot-wide shared use path along the north side of Old State Road from Nantucket Island Drive to Old State Place. The project consists mainly of a new path and includes some stormwater drainage work and a crosswalk at Lakeshore Meadows Drive. The total cost of the project is estimated at $1.4M.

The installation of J-turn improvements will reduce the existing at-grade crossovers at Pond and State Route T. All left turns onto Route 100 from the side roads at these intersections will be required to utilize the new median J-turns. The estimated cost to design and construct this project is $3.010M.

Background: Last spring, Davey Resource Group (DRG) began work to complete a full city-wide inventory of street trees, which was estimated to be 6,000 trees. This project will fill a gap in the pedestrian facilities along the east side of Route 109 between Route 100 and Manchester Road. The Department began the process to design this sidewalk segment a few years ago, as plans were completed by the engineering firm HR Green, Inc. Please see Exhibit A for the location of the project.
