In 2022, the City contracted with Intuition & Logic to design the Old State Road Shared Use Path Project. This project consists of construction of a new 10-foot-wide shared use path along the north side of Old State Road from Nantucket Island Drive to Old State Place. The project consists mainly of a new path and includes some stormwater drainage work and a crosswalk at Lakeshore Meadows Drive. The total cost of the project is estimated at $1.4M.

The City of Wildwood has obtained both federal and state cost share funds to be used to design and construct J-Turns at two intersections: Route 100 & Route T; and Route 100 and Pond Rd. The installation of J-turn improvements will reduce the existing at-grade crossovers at Pond and State Route T. All left turns onto Route 100 from the side roads at these intersections will be required to utilize the new median J-turns. The estimated cost to design and construct this project is $3.010M.

Unfortunately, DRG was unable to complete the city-wide inventory, as the level of effort far exceeded the original estimate of 6,000 trees. To complete the project, DRG is estimating an additional 3,000-6,000 sites will need to be inventoried and has provided second proposal to the Department for this work, which has been attached as Exhibit A. The final cost to the City will be based on the actual number of sites inventoried, but will not exceed $21,900 for 6,000 sites, or $3.65/tree. Please note that 75% of the cost for this work, or

Re: Proposed City-Consultant Agreement for Design of the Route 109 Sidewalk Project

Background: For 2022, the Council authorized $150,000 in the capital improvement fund to construct a segment of new sidewalk on Route 109, from Manchester Road to south of Viola Gill Lane. This project will fill a gap in the pedestrian facilities along the east side of Route 109 between Route 100 and Manchester Road. The Department began the process to design this sidewalk segment a few years ago, as plans were completed by the engineering firm HR Green, Inc. Please see Exhibit A for the location of the project. A copy of the prior plans has been included as Exhibit B.
