It is the intent and purpose of this Agreement, entered into by and between the CITY OF GALVESTON, TEXAS, hereinafter referred to as CITY and the GALVESTON FIREFIGHTERS’ ASSOCIATION, LOCAL 571, INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF FIRE FIGHTERS, hereinafter referred to as UNION, to achieve and maintain harmonious relations between the parties hereto and to provide for more effective productive service in the public interest.
