As I write this, the first snow of the coming winter is falling – a bit earlier than expected but it serves as a reminder of how quickly time passes. In late October, we were reminded that Bill C-27 was already one year old. As you will recall, this bill would allow Crown and federally-regulated corpo- rations to replace their defined-benefit pension plans with defined- contribution plans. We saw this as a start down the slippery slope to end all defined-benefits earned by retirees.
