AMENDED AND RESTATED PRINCIPAL UNDERWRITING AGREEMENT THIS PRINCIPAL UNDERWRITING AGREEMENT, is between THE TAX-EXEMPT BOND FUND OF AMERICA, INC., a Maryland corporation (the "Fund"), and AMERICAN FUNDS DISTRIBUTORS, INC., a California corporation (the "Distributor").
