NAME DESCRIPTION FEE Home Study* For NY,FL & OHResidents Only The Home Study is a detailed, collaborative, written report about the adoptive family, prepared by a social worker and required by law prior to any adoptive placement. The Home Study requires the Adoptive Parent(s) to: gather certain documents, answer several questions; explore their reasons for adopting; learn more about adoption and; evaluate and determine their readiness to adopt. An approved Adoption S.T.A.R. home study may be used with other domestic or international agencies or for private adoption as well.** Fee includes a consultation appointment with a Family Advocate, the time spent in meetings, home visits, securing all state required data***, writing, editing and ensuring compliance of the report. Fee does not include Safety Assessments**** or any other additional internal or external assessment required if there is a past criminal history or other reasons that require The Agency to conduct further investigation.
