The National Botanic Gardens, Glasnevin intends to honour the letter and spirit of the 1992 Convention On Biological Diversity (CBD), as well as the Nagoya Protocol On Access To Genetic Resources and the EU Regulation No 511/2014 on compliance measures for the Nagoya Protocol in the use of its collections. In addition all seed has been assigned, or carries, an International Plant Exchange Network (IPEN) number which should be entered into the electronic register held by the recipient garden. Accordingly, the supply of material is subject to the following conditions:
