Recalling the creation in 1957 of the Latin American School of Social Sciences in Santiago, Chile, applying the recommendations of the First Regional Conference on University Teaching of the Social Sciences in South America, which met in March, 1956, in Río de Janeiro, and paragraph d) of resolution 3.42, approved by the General Conference of the United Nations Organization for Education, Science, and Culture, during its ninth meeting, celebrated in New Delhi in November, 1956.
